Saturday at Kasana

Saturday provided another day to see God work in Uganda and in us.

Last night Pastor Paul taught us about the heart of the orphan. Pastor Paul grew up at the children's center here at New Hope. Now, he's a pastor in the area, on staff at New Hope, and teaches at the pastor's training institute. He gave us many insights into the heart of an orphan and into our own hearts.

Today the men continued to work on the playground. Brandon taught a self-defense class and accidentally choked out Scott (he's ok).

We spent the afternoon playing games with our family. Each team is paired with a family at Kasana. A family is made up of a father and mother, their biological children, and 15 or more other children that they raise. Our team is working with the Samuel family. If you come on our next trip to Uganda you will get to meet them. They are great kids.

This evening, Keith (our Alpine partner at New Hope) taught us God's heart for the orphan from the Bible. It was a moving experience to see how God's heart for the fatherless is found throughout Scripture.

Tomorrow is church. Scott and Renato are going to a village church to preach. The rest of the team will be at the church service at Kasana.

We are scheduled to be part of a soccer match in the afternoon. We will see how that goes...

In Christ,

The Alpine Uganda Team
